Good sign or bad sign?
Three days away from THE day. The day we found out what sex the baby is, it was April 4th-the day the tornadoes demolished part of Northeast Jackson. We are delivering on 9/11-a very significant date and sad day in the history of our country. On top of that, there will more than likely be a Category 3 or 4 hurricane brewing in the Gulf of Mexico heading anywhere from Texas to Louisiana. My question: Should I go ahead and have my tubes tied while I'm in there? Or should I just laugh it off as a coincidence?

The Circus....

We had some friends who had to make a last-minute trip out of town, and had up-close-and-personal front-row tickets to the circus and wanted someone to make use of them. They didn't have to twist our arms... It was Brennan's first time to the circus, and sadly, Chad said it was his first time to go to the circus! Everybody had a great time. That's part of the fun of being a parent--seeing those kinds of things through your child's eyes.

Being a soccer parent is quite an ordeal. Especially for a four year old. By the time we found some socks, (I didn't even attempt to put on his soccer socks for practice, that would've taken more time than it's worth)found his cleats, found his shin guards and then his soccer ball (all four of the aforementioned were in 4 totally different locations scattered across two cars and across the house) it ended up taking up more time than we had. We ended up being a few minutes late to practice and then the soccer fields were closed because of the wet weather the last few days. No phone call from his coach, no nothing. This is about the 3rd time we have shown up and either no one has been there or something else has happened(like no phone calls saying practice is canceled!). When I was a soccer coach for a very short season last fall, it was my duty to call and tell parents the latest. And if there was a time change, I called. If there was anything different for a particular practice or game I called. Obviously this coach didn't get that memo.
And for you, Marie, I've started "The Perfect Match" by Jodi. Awesome, yet quite disturbing. Especially when my son is about that age. Can't put it down though. This is a 4th book by her I've read in the last month. (Who's the nerd now?) I can't quite put her books down, but I wish they'd last longer because I enjoy them so much. It's always a little disappointing when I know I'm getting to the end.

I'm really tired and grumpy, and I'm really impressed that some people can leave such nasty comments on blogs, and I won't think I know who they are. Yes, my beliefs are such as those that I named, and that doesn't mean that I'm perfect--ever was, nor intend to be. Have my WAYS changed? Yes. If you've been keeping up with me for the last year-and-a-half of my life by reading my blogs and following my life, then you know that the person I WAS two years ago is not the person I AM now. Old habits die hard, and I've forgiven myself for the mistakes that I've made--and so have other people-- and moved on, it's time other people do the same. Don't judge me, I won't judge you, we're all going to be judged in the end. For every action there is a consequence and I chose mine. Was it fun? No. But, I wouldn't change a thing. Not even the action I chose. Only because I've learned and grown from it, and it's shown me that I can be a better person than that. I've gotten to where I am now by choices and consequences. As bitter as that pill was to swallow, I wouldn't change a thing. Otherwise, WHERE WOULD I BE NOW? If there's something that needs to be said, address it to me PERSONALLY and not behind an "anonymous user" comment that is no way anyone's business but mine AND YOURS. Because I know who you are.

Fred Thompson gave an excellent speech last night. I normally do not get myself involved in politics to the point that I sit down and watch something like the Republican National Convention and shush people so that I can hear it. But I was just passing through the living room last night and Chad had it on, so then I felt compelled to stick around and hear what Fred had to say. He was really good and it was very interesting to hear about John McCain's days of being a P.O.W. I finally left the room towards the end of Joe Lieberman's speech. He gave an okay speech. He just kept repeating himself. His speech could have been wrapped up in about five minutes, tops. I guess I'm going to have to see what Palin has to say tonight....

And still nothing!
I made it another week and I still haven't done anything as far as dilating. She said my cervix has softened up which could mean I can dilate at any point. Which still doesn't mean anything. Just one more teeny, tiny week. That's it. I'm going to make it....
So, I guess everyone is headed back to the coast, even though they're telling everyone to stay put for now. Highway 49 South is bumper to bumper traffic, almost worse than 5 o'clock rush hour traffic, and every tag hailed from Harrison, Hancock, or Jackson counties. And there were many Louisiana state tags. I didn't see many from Rankin county. I just hope everyone can make it back safely and that they're not making a trip for nothing. I heard on the news that they are turning some people away when they get there, because there's still flooding and things of that nature going on.
Yesterday I got so restless that Chad and I had to leave the house. I couldn't take one more second of the news anchors on channel 16 anymore, nor could I stand watching the rain out the back window of my living room. Normally I love rainy, stormy days where I can just curl up under a blanket and read a book, but being cooped up in the house was more than I could take yesterday. I thought we'd be the only "geniuses" out in the weather yesterday, but when we got to the mall, it was packed. I think most were evacuees trying to get out of wherever they were staying. I saw a lot of LSU shirts, and we even talked to a family from New Orleans while we were standing in line at Dillards. It was nice to get out of the house for a couple of hours. I even hit some MAJOR bargain racks!
