It has been a week. That is the only way I can start this entry. I have built up so much stress inside my gut, my head, and my heart, that I think I might explode. From day one it has not been a good week.
Sunday was bad because my kids basically made me cuss in church. Then I came down with a terrible headache and wanted nothing to do with anyone who came in sight of me.
Monday I was in a lot of pain with my right side. The same pain I've had for over a year. Some of my closest friends know about this. Monday the pain was so bad that I wanted to chew an arm off just to relieve the pain in my side. And I FINALLY broke down and called the doctor to get an appointment. The pain is becoming like Chinese water torture for me. It's slowly but surely driving me insane.
Monday night I woke up in a panic thinking I had left a very expensive piece of equipment on at our dental office and I literally had a panic attack over the thought of frying a $10,000 piece of equipment that is pertinent to running a dental practice. Never mind, I don't have $10,000 lying around to replace something I was careless about. Plus I certainly didn't want to lose a job that I love. I was physically sick. And so worried about it that I was too afraid to call the office the next day and ask if I had left it on and broken it. (Fortunately, I turned it off. I guess it's just become such a habit that I didn't remember turning it off.)
Tuesday night my husband decides to tell me right as I'm turning off the light to go to sleep that I have unknowingly caused some family drama. Really? I already have insomnia. Thanks, Chad for waiting to tell me at the exact moments I'm turning off the lights. It was his normal "oh, by the way" nonchalant attitude. Five minutes later he was snoring. Five minutes later I wanted to whack him in the head and make him listen to me cry. But I have washed my hands of that drama.
Here comes the really overwhelming part, though. And I don't know why I feel I should share this with the world, but apparently I share everything else with the world, so why not my #1 issue?
I went to the doctor yesterday morning for the chronic pain in my right side. In the back of my head I knew what she was going to tell me. So, after doing an exam and a sonogram, they found 2 things causing my culprit. #1. I have a cyst on my right ovary, which is not really a big deal. Lots of females have them. And it wasn't so big that it should have been causing me pain. #2. My endometriosis has come back with a vengeance. This is bad news for me.
In 2006 I had surgery to get rid of the same thing. I also had a series of 6 injections, once a month at about $300 an injection. She warned me it was a temporary solution to my problem. A VERY expensive temporary solution, but I had some other issues in my life and I wasn't ready to get pregnant by any stretch of the imagination. (Pregnancy is a self-cure for endometriosis.)
So back to yesterday. She sat me down in her office and closed the door and laid out the options. #1. Try a different birth control and see if it helps in any way with any of the symptoms, including the pain I am having.
#2. Have surgery #2 and have the #2 set of expensive injections. Again, temporary, but will get me through the next 2 or 3 years.
#3. Go ahead and get pregnant, have baby #3 and have a hysterectomy at the same time I give birth.
The longer I let my endometriosis stay as it is, the more at risk I become for having infertility issues. Which for me, excludes the first option. And by the way, my doctor's first option and only recommendation in her professional opinion is the third option.
I am overwhelmed and I am praying to God for an answer. I am begging God for an answer. I so want another baby. And so does Chad. But there are so many things I enjoy about my life now. I love, love, love having Ethan home with me by himself during the day while Brennan is at school. I love seeing Ethan's milestones each day and not being consumed with another tiny baby to look after.
And a hysterectomy???? That is such a big word for a young lady. I don't want to be growing hair on my chin and having hot flashes by the time I'm 35. A hysterectomy is so final. That's it. I have no chance of ever bringing life into this world.
I did talk to a precious friend who is a couple of years older than me tonight who had a hysterectomy. She encouraged me by making me feel better about how she's not growing hair on her chin and she certainly doesn't resemble a 60 year old postmenopausal woman.
I just want a final answer and a final cure. And I know what that is. There is only one option that is a final, no take back, cure. It's irreversible. My doctor even thinks that maybe I could already have infertility issues since this problem has come back so bad. (And let's just say that the chronic pain is only a small part of the big picture here.)
I will be on my knees for the next few days and I really want to be able to discern God's voice from my own. He is in control and His timing is always perfect. He has never abandoned me in anything before, so I know He won't now. I just don't remember my first 2 kids being such a hard decision to make when it came to whether we were ready or not..............

Medi-Share
I am so pumped!!! I am dropping my health insurance which is a HUGE joke and a waste of money. I think I would actually feel better if I took $200 and flushed it down the toilet every month. My money that I pay for my premiums each month has done NOTHING for me. I owe ridiculous amounts of money each time I visit the doctor for something other than my annual check-up. (Which fortunately I don't have to visit doctors too often.)
I found out about Medi-Share: a non-profit Christian group that offers "insurance" to those who meet the requirements. What are the requirements? Very little actually. I was amazed. But first, let me tell you about Medi-Share for those who may not know.
Medi-Share is a group of thousands of Christians across the United States who pay a monthly fee. The older you are the more expensive it is, but it is still cheaper than insurance. This monthly fee goes into a checking account set up via a credit union that Medi-Share uses. Every time I pay my monthly fee (which for a generally healthy 29 year old female who is proportioned in weight and height according to the normal standards is $136) it goes into an account that I have set up and I pay other people's medical bills. I see every transaction that is made with MY money. I also see the name of the person who is using my money. My job is to pray for them. It basically comes down to the fact that it is one big prayer chain that helps pay for any medical costs.
When it is my turn to have an ailment or illness and I am hospitalized or have to see the doctor due to illness, I send in my doctor's statements and bills, and I am covered up to 100%. They even pay for C-section births and hospital stays with the exception that I have paid my monthly fees for the entire duration of my pregnancy. And yes, they even cover prescription costs.
Sound too good to be true? I thought so too. And yes, I am new to this, but from the research I have done and the information gathered, it is an incredible way to help others and to offset medical expenses. I even know a couple of people who use this same group.
It is also exempt from the new healthcare bill that was passed.
There are a couple of requirements such as: you have to be an ACTIVE member of a church and you have to have a faith testimony and it has to be signed by a staff member of the church you attend.
And when you apply they do ask for a health history background, and can consider things preexisting. I was sweating bullets when I filled out my form because I have had endometriosis and have had surgery for it about 4 years ago and I am currently on a study drug for G.I. problems. But, by the grace of God they didn't ask any questions nor did they consider either a preexisting condition.
The representative whom I have been talking back and forth with is awesome. We even talk on the phone like we're old friends. It is an all around amazing thing. And the best part is that we are doing just what the Bible instructs us to do. It is purely Biblical.
I know the way I explained it may make no sense, but check it out for yourself: http://mychristiancare.org/medi-share/
And if by some chance, you do decide to apply, let them know that I referred you. It goes towards discounts on my monthly fees. :)

Snapped.....
Here is the chant I have to keep repeating to myself over and over this weekend: "In a few years I will miss these days.....in a few years I will miss these days.....in a few years I will miss these days....."
Yesterday started out FABULOUS. I found out that "The Andy Griffith" show was on ALL day, rain was supposed to be moving in, AND I was getting rid of my husband for the afternoon and evening. (Yes, I know. I sound horrible, but I will take a break when I can get it.)
Here were my plans: Get the major cleaning out of the way as soon as I woke up, send the boys outside to wear themselves out before it rained, and plop myself on the couch with "The Andy Griffith" show, put the boys down for naps (or in Brennan's case quiet time in his room with his toys and television--- and don't judge me for that) and then put them in bed at 8:00 and settle in with my "48 Hours Mystery" on CBS and go to bed myself. I had it all planned out so perfectly. Nothing on my to do list but be LAZY. (And not feel guilty about it.)
Well, to say the least, about a dozen dirty words had come out of my mouth by 10:00 yesterday morning. Again, don't judge me. I don't usually verbalize foul language (even if I may think it) but yesterday, I must confess to all of you (I mean, why not? Jesus already knows) that I was letting my words fly.
I sent the boys to play outside. For starters it was only 100 degrees first thing in the morning, but was supposed to be cooling off with the RAIN that we NEVER got. Well, my mother-in-law always thinks it's a brilliant idea to get my kids toys that are too big for any space in our house. Yes, we have an extra bedroom that we call our "playroom" but, #1. that does not mean it gets used as such, and #2. it is the SAME SIZE as both of the boy's rooms-- in other words, it's not a very big room. So, for Ethan's birthday she gave him this ridiculous play jungle/tent/tunnel. Brennan has been BEGGING us to put it up. But we have not one inch of space to put it. It's not something that sets up easily and not something that you take down easily. And I am way to OCD to stick it somewhere like my living room and have to look at the stupid thing everyday. SO, my genius self decides to put it outside and let them play with it, and then take it down at the end of the day. I will be danged if not 5 minutes after putting that cursed thing up for my SWEET little ANGELS there was hollering and screaming coming from the backyard. They were already fussing and fighting and having meltdowns over it. Not because they couldn't get along, but the thing wouldn't stay up. THEN, my youngest-- the one who can operate my iPhone, got hold of the water hose. The morning just continued downhill from there. The water hose wouldn't have been so bad except it got out of control between Brennan and Ethan.
Of course, now Ethan can open any door that is not locked (and I imagine he could open a LOCKED door if you left him alone long enough) so he would come open the backdoor dripping wet and just stand there staring at me. Sure, why not? The air conditioner runs on LOVE, not MONEY. Let's share our love with all of our neighbors with the backdoor wide open.
My husband decides to get the oil changed in the car and fix the toilet that's only been needing fixing for 6 months, all the while time is ticking away. Then after I decided the jungle gym/stupid toy was a bad idea in the backyard I decided to try and dismantle it. When I couldn't do it, I made Mr. Handyman take over. After about half an hour he was mumbling words I couldn't quite make out and throwing it around the living room. I'm pretty sure I heard the phrase "throw this stupid thing in the garbage is what I'm going to do". Well, that was good for a laugh yesterday morning.
Okay, okay. Without taking you through every waking moment of my day yesterday I will make the rest short: Chad decided at the last minute not to go to Oxford because the weather was so yucky up there (which we got NO yucky weather), and he ruined my couch potato time, my kids each had to have 2 baths, the dog had to have a bath, and my house had to be re-cleaned yesterday evening. My family wore me slap out.
Oh, and a conversation between Ethan and me yesterday:
E: "Mama."
Me: "What?"
E: "Mama"
Me: "What?"
E: "Mama"
Me: " What?"
E: "Mama"
Me: "What?"
This proceeded for quite a few minutes longer until Brennan came busting in the room to inform me of something that I didn't want to hear and I finally said, "I swear to everybody in this house, if I hear one more person call my name today, I'm packing my suitcase and I'm not coming back." Needless to say my name still got called and I'm still here. I'm hanging on to my last shred of sanity, but I'm still here.
Fast forward to church this morning. My kids always bring out the worst in me when we're at church of all places. Chad has different duties that always call me to be like the single mother chasing 2 kids going in 40 different directions. One is talking back and disappearing when I turn my back for a few seconds, the other is hollering and screaming and kicking as I try to pick him up and take him to the car. This morning was the worst. I think several people saw a side of Mandy that only God and Jesus ever see. My preacher turned the corner and caught me threatening my oldest heathen. I was so put out with my kids when I left church I wanted to spin my wheels and burn rubber out of the parking lot. By the time I got home I had a headache from you-know-where and I told my husband that my entire family was treading on thin ice with me and I don't think anyone of them wanted to be the one to break that ice.
As we speak my toddler just woke up from his nap and his having a flat out meltdown in the middle of the floor for no reason other than he wants to hear himself holler and scream. Really???? Will I REALLY miss these days? I need some encouragement here. This Mama is about one nerve from snapping.
Oh, and by the way.... so much for the rain!!! Glad I got my hopes up. Well, I guess I better go tend to this screaming hot mess I call my toddler.....
P.S. Most of you know blogging is my therapy. And it feels good to let that go and be gut-honest. Hallelujah.

Ethan's 2 year pictures.....
Today I took Ethan to Brookhaven where a friend lives who had offered to take some pics of Ethan for his second birthday. (I know-- I am 2 weeks late, but have been so busy!)
Dawn did such a good job. I really, really, really want to invest in a good camera.
Ethan is totally opposite from his big brother. Where there is not a shy bone in Brennan's body, Ethan is VERY shy and he kept refusing to look at Dawn or smile for her.

Chad's arrest..........
It sure was an eventful day! Started off with a trip to Highland Village to buy Ethan some fall shoes. It just so happened that the whole news team from WLBT was right outside the store we were shopping in doing a commercial. However, I missed Barbie Bassett. She wasn't there.
Then we went stopped by Chad's office. While we were there he had a little visit from Jackson's finest. He was issued a warrant for his arrest!!!!!

Whew. That Mr. Miller's job is so hard I had to break for some yummy Mexican and a big, stiff drink. (It's Coke, people.)
Let's go. It's time for my siesta.
Okay, and I admit. I thought it would be funny when I picked Brennan up from school and tell him that the police visited his Daddy at work and arrested him and took him to jail in a police car. Whoa. THAT was a BAD idea. He had a sort of meltdown immediately. So, then I decided I better write his teacher a note of explanation just in case he went to school tomorrow and told everyone his daddy was arrested and went to jail. We live in a small town. It wouldn't be hard for rumors to get started.
AND, just for your sake, Chad was arrested in the name of charity. It was for the Jerry Lewis telethon. He had to post bail for the amount of money he was lacking. So he was calling everyone in his address book. But then he got fed some good food and a ride back to his office in a limo.

Random thoughts......

Today Chad and I went to Fuego's. It's a new Mexican restaurant downtown and it's connected to the popular Fire nightclub. Chad works downtown and I had been seeing Fuego's advertised. Then we passed it on the way home from a wedding Saturday and wanted to stop and try it out. Oh. My. Goodness. It was soooooo yummy. THE BEST Mexican I have ever had. The chef himself came out and introduced himself to us and we talked for a few minutes. He is so nice and said anytime we wanted to come in, he would prepare whatever we wanted. Even if we didn't see it on the menu. It was wonderful!
Two thumbs WAY up.

Sushi and Kroger. My new discovery. And bad news for me and good news for me: The bad news is I live in a town that only has a redneck Kroger. It's old. It's outdated. And it doesn't have half the stuff I go looking for. But I love the coupons they give me and can get some great deals. Also, the bad news is they don't have a super-fantabulous sushi bar.
Good news: The Clinton Kroger has a sushi bar. And oh. My. Goodness. It is inexpensive and DELICIOUS. As good as any sushi restaurant around. Also the good news is since there is no good sushi around these here parts in redneck land, then I won't over indulge myself constantly. I have no self control. If I want it, I usually get it, and have very little regret.
Who knew Kroger could be so hip?
Chad's grandmother. I love this lady. LOVE her. I have gotten to be very close to her through the years and she has become like my own grandmother. And when she introduces me, she doesn't call me her granddaughter-in-law. I am her granddaughter. So yesterday I got off work at noon. I went and picked her up from her apartment. She doesn't drive so therefore she doesn't get out very much. We went exploring around Clinton and had so much fun. Clinton has definitely changed over the years.
We went to a very nice consignment store for children called "Freckles" and I bought several things for Brennan. Then she wanted to get the boys each something. We went to Olde Towne Clinton and into a neat antique store. We both had so much fun. It was a maze of rooms and the owner had some FABULOUS things. There were even clothes from the 1800's. I fell in love with this beautiful velvet jacket that looked like it came from the 1950's or early 60's. When I flipped the tag over, it said it was from the year 1895 and it had a $900 price tag on it. I walked away.
There was lots of costume jewelry and she had a great time looking through all of it. She pointed out several pieces and told me she used to have some just like them, but didn't know what had happened to them over the years. She said she wishes she still had them. So, for Christmas I know exactly what Chad and I are going to get her! I think some cute, vintage costume jewelrey would be a fun, nostalgic gift for her.
Well, here she is. My car that's been with me over the last decade of my life. We finally sold her. I didn't realize I had any attachment to this car until I saw it drive off for the last time. We sold it to some friends from Grenada, so I know they will take care of her. She's been a good little car. It took me through the last of high school, all of college, and the first years of marriage. (*sniff, sniff*)
I had to include this picture. I HATED these seats when I first got the car. But then I eventually started calling them my "party seats". Looks like an explosion of the 80's on those seats. But, they eventually grew on me.
And here is my work of "art" hanging in my bedroom. It actually looks okay from a distance. Fortunately not much traffic treks through that part of the house.
Hey, I can dream, right???? America's leaders Republicans and Democrats alike (but especially Democrats) have sickened me. Chad went to a continuing education course yesterday about the new healthcare reform bill. Some of the things that he learned would make your stomach turn. And that is not an exaggeration. There are about 3 things in the entire bill that are actually logical, good ideas. The entire rest of the bill (which not everyone still knows EVERYTHING that is in that bill-- including Obama) is going to cause confusion and chaos eventually. My stomach gets twisted in knots when I think about what my kids will be facing because of these selfish, money hungry politicians, and a president who has no clue about anything he signs his name to. We are facing debt that we will NEVER get out of. And yes, this bill is about to put us further into it.
However, as despicable as I think Obama's ways are and all those other clueless politicians, I was reminded this morning in my devotion that I should pray for them. However, I admit, that this is hard. Because praying for someone you don't really want to is HARD. But reading Daniel 9 sort of put it into perspective for me.
In Daniel 9, Daniel prays fervently for God to show mercy on Jerusalem. He prayed for forgiveness and mercy on the people of Jerusalem. He admitted they had become wicked and had turned away from the instruction and laws of God. He asked for true forgiveness. Does this sound familiar? Go back and read Daniel 9 for yourself.
Makes you want to get on your knees now. I just hope it's not too late for this country.
ALSO---- last but not least--- I am thinking about doing another giveaway for the readers of my blog. I don't really like doing giveaways because I sort of feel like it cheapens it, but I have so many people comment on my blogs in person-- people I would never expect to ready my blog. So, I like to do it to thank my readers. If you are not a follower of my blog-- in other words, your name is not on the left-hand side in the follower block, add your name. If you do not know how, then leave comments to let me know you are reading. Not sure when I am doing the giveaway OR what it will be. But will let you know soon.
Thanks.

Thanks.

ArtWorks Studio and our paint party!
Last night my Sunday school class had a paint party at the art studio where Brennan takes lessons. Instead of going to Easely Amused where everyone seems to go, Lori does classes too. We had a great time.
Valerie shouting across the road: "How am I supposed to cross all that traffic with cake in my hands?"
Our finished projects. If you were able to see them up close, the crosses were thick with texture and we added a little bling with some rhinestones.
Okay, so I'm not an artist. I'm just a dental assistant who works with my hands all day, but can't paint to save my life. I tried. And I had fun trying.
