The housing market is in a slump, groceries are at an all time high, along with gas prices. The economy could be headed for a recession, we still have a war going on overseas, and I won't even comment on the future possible disaster--excuse me, what I meant to say was-- LEADER of this country. (My wish is to offend no one who is kind enough to take the time to read my blogs). My family and I could be eating cheese out of a can and hot dogs in the next couple of months thanks to that wonderful thing we call inflation, BUT I have nothing to complain about at the moment. Why? I got a really, REALLY awesome haircut today!
Yes, a good haircut makes the world a brighter place. I haven't had a haircut this pleasing since I was in high school. I was so scared and had been working up the courage to sit in a stylist's chair for several weeks now. Behold, a friend of mine whose hair I envied and fell in love with called her hair person and made me an appointment. When she sat me down in the chair and asked what I wanted I said, "I want to be like Tonia!". Then the hair started falling. And falling. And falling. So much hair. By the way, I have more hair than the average person. It should be a sin to have as much hair as I do. Or did. I finally got up the nerve to get one of those cute, short, bold haircuts I always envy on other women. I DID IT!!!! Now I'm wondering why I took so long. My life could have been easier months ago. The ponytail was becoming my daily style. DAILY! And that gets old. A part of me felt like I should have been Sampson sitting in that chair. I thought I might lose part of my identity if I cut too much off. But, man! I feel GUH-REAT. Free as a bird, and 10 pounds lighter. Seriously, if I would have thought about it, I would have weighed myself before and after because I'm convinced I lost something. Even if it was just a pound. So again, I say all is right with the world. I'm free, free, free at last!

It was a moment of weakness.....
I allowed my husband to put his authentic, autographed Ole Miss football signed by all of the Manning superheroes on the MANTLE in the LIVING ROOM. I think I have totally lost it. He had been keeping it at his office as his nice little showpiece, then started worrying about it (especially since I'm quite sure it's gone up in value the 3 years he's had it) being kept unoccupied overnight. I blame it on my illness. Not my mental illness either. I didn't feel well last night so I just let it go. I think I'll get used to it. Or I'll just keep telling myself that until I do.
Speaking of not feeling well, I don't think I was truly broken into parenthood until last night. It officially happened. Brennan has had some sort of stomach virus. Apparently. I didn't realize it until it was too late. There is nothing like cleaning up someone else's vomit. And not a little. And did I mention I didn't feel well last night? Horrendous. It could have been a potential disaster for all parties involved. But, I guess I realized really fast that vomit isn't self cleaning and the quicker we got it over with, well, the quicker we got it over with! So, that better be as hard as it gets until we reach puberty and he starts dating!

Gatti Town here we come! Soon...... Kinda soon......
I am SO excited! I just made reservations for Brennan's birthday party. I know it's not until MAY, but I don't know how fast Gatti town fills up with parties, so I went ahead and booked it while it was on my mind. Yes, I said GATTI TOWN!!! I haven't been there yet, but I've heard it's the upscale version of Chuck-E-Cheese's. They even have bumper cars. It makes me miss my childhood days of counting my tickets and rushing off to the counter to cash them in for something useless and cheap. And they have a "dedicated party hero". Who knew that ugly little mouse could ever be outdone?
A Lesson in Life...
Someone forwarded this to me in an email. I find this very important and meaningful because although I'm not always as positive as this guy, I have spent the past year learning what came naturally to this guy. Sometimes it takes life-changing choices to realize certain things.
John is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood

"What did you do?" I asked.
"Well, there was a big burly nurse sh o uting questions at me," said John.
"She asked if I was allergic to anything 'Yes, I replied.' The doctors
and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep
breath and yelled, 'Gravity'"
Over their laughter, I told them, "I am choosing to live. Operate on me
as if I am alive, not dead."
He lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his
amazing attitude...I learned from him that every day we have the choice to
live fully.
Attitude, after all, is everything
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about
itself. Each da y has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34.
After all today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

Kayra, if Girl Scout cookies are the DEVIL, then my beloved husband is the Devil's Advocate. Just as I had stashed the remaining Thin Mint cookies in the pantry, hoping my will would be strong enough to forget them, my husband brought 2 more boxes of Girl Scout cookies home last night. He said he specifically thought of me when he ordered the box of All Abouts. I guess these are new on the scene because I've never heard of or seen these, but let me tell you, Chad was doing me NO favors by thinking of me this time around. They are quite the yummy cookie. Must......stay.....away.......
